Borrisokane CC 1st and 2nd year girl’s basketball teams played Gallen CS at home on Monday 30th January. First years were up first and struggled with form early on against a very strong Gallen side. Borrisokane struggled with their physicality and despite an improved performance in the second half lost this game to a better team.

Second years played next and started well going in with a slight lead after the first quarter. They extended this lead in the second quarter and went in with an 8 point lead at half time. Scores were hard to come by in the third quarter and Borris lost their way a little and let Gallen back into the game. It was all to play for in the last quarter and it seemed a draw was inevitable when Borris scored a last second basket on the buzzer to come out as 34-32 winners in what was a very entertaining game.
