Erasmus Trip to Sweden

Twelve Transition Year students, along with two teachers, travelled to Lund, Sweden last week as part of the Erasmus+ programme. They enjoyed a guided tour of their host students school, took part in icebreaker games and got involved in a range of workshops organised by the school. They also experienced a traditional Swedish Fika: “Klasdkaka”.
Over the course of the week students met the Chair of the Municipal Council at Lund City Hall, followed by a guided walking tour of the city. They took part in an Active Citizenship workshop at Europe Direct, where they learned more about the EU and engaged in interactive activities focused on tackling key environmental and economic challenges for the future.

Day three included an open debate on the ethics of chocolate production and a group lesson on argumentative writing. Meanwhile, teachers toured the media department, observed lessons, visited a state-of-the-art high school focusing on business, and explored the city by bike. The day ended with fika in the sunny courtyard—an enjoyable and relaxing finish to a great day of learning and cultural exchange. Well done to all who facilitated the students and our wonderful hosts.
