2nd Year Boys & Girls Basketball

Congratulations to our 2nd year Boys and Girls Basketball Teams who both won the Midlands League on Thursday March 30th.  What a fantastic achievement for both teams and for Borrisokane Community College.

Second year girls Basketball: What a team!! Our second year girls basketball team returned to the scene of their Midlands final defeat 12 months prior and put on a strong display to claim a deserved Midlands regional championship against St Conleths of Kildare. The girls progressed undefeated through the competition, determined to claim victory this season. They displayed grit, and unmatchable team spirit throughout the competition to make their second final in two years – where the roof was blown off St Marys Hall in Portlaoise with the roar of Porcupines to push the girls over the championship line. The future is extremely bright for this team and girls basketball in Borrisokane, with so much talent present. The girls are fully capable of bringing many more championships to Borrisokane. Congratulations girls! Go Porcupines.

Second Year Boys Basketball: On the same day the second year boys played in their Midlands Final.  This team trained hard all year and put on amazing display in games fighting to the last minute to win close games.  They put on a exhibition of basketball in the final winning comfortably in the end.  They too are looking forward to next year and progressing to the next age level in basketball.
