Girls Basketball

It was another busy week for our under 16 and under 19 girls basketball teams. Our under 16 were victories in their two matches against Portlaoise College and Colaiste Naomh Cormac with impressive scorelines of 33-7 and 46-5 respectively. These victories mean the under 16s advance from the group and into the quarter finals. Mixed fortunes for the under 19s. They fell short against a vastly more experienced Portlaoise College but displayed a great attitude and determination throughout the game. Their positive attitude was rewarded with a 46-16 victory against Colaiste Naomh Cormac. Best of luck to our under 16 girls in the next phase of the competition after midterm.

Boys Basketball

Hard luck to our boys this week, they lost out to Killina in both games.   Best of luck to Killina as they progress in the competition.

Macbeth Trip

Our 6th year students travelled to view a live production of MacBeth in the Mill Theatre Dundrum this week.  It was a great opportunity to see this production and bring Shakespeare to life.

Limerick Open Days

Our senior students had a very enjoyable day on Thursday viewing the 3rd level colleges in Limerick.   They had the opportunity to view UL, TUS Moylish, Mary I and Limerick School of Art and Design. It was great to get the opportunity to view the campus and attend lectures in the colleges.

Erasmus Trip to Spain by Lucas Jones

We recently went to Balaguer on our Erasmus trip. It was a great experience and we had an amazing time. We were immersed into Spanish culture from the second we arrived and enjoyed exploring and learning loads about local culture and heritage. One of the most exciting days was a trip to the city Lleida where we saw the Catalonian tradition of people creating a human tower. We enjoyed lots of tapas and learned traditional dances too! We also explored Barcelona and enjoyed learning about the city’s history and culture. We think Erasmus is a great project and more schools should get involved. We look forward to our Erasmus partners visiting us later this month.
