Seachtain na Gaeilge

Le linn Seachtain na Gaeilge, bhí go leor imeachtaí ar siúl chun é a cheilliúradh. Bhí tráth na gceist ar siúl don chéad bhliain. Míle buíochas do dhaltaí na hidirbhliana a d’eagraigh an tráth na gceist. Comhghairdeas le Aoibhín, Aoibhín, Lucy agus Grace a bhuaigh an tráth na gceist. Chomh maith leis sin, bhí treodóireacht ar siúl don dara bliain. Bhí an aimsir go hálainn agus bhí sé iontach aer brea úr a fháil. Bhain gach duine taitneamh as!

Bhí seisiún ceoil ar siúl le linn na seachtaine freisin. Míle buíochas don ghrúpa traidisiúnta. Ceoltóirí den scoth! Bhí comórtas ‘Seanfhocal an lae’ againn freisin, gach lá d’fhógair dalta seanfhocal an lae, ‘is beatha teanga í á labhairt’ agus rinne na daltaí sár-oibre an ghaeilge a úsáid i rith na seachtaine uair ar bith a raibh deis acu.

Táimid ar bís go bhfuil fiche dalta tar éis scoláireacht a fháil chun freastal ar chúrsa samhraidh. Tá ár ndaltaí ag freastal ar Choláiste Sheosaimh i gCarna, Co na Gaillimhe ar feadh na blianta agus is mór an cabhair í don bhealtriail na hArdteiste agus i gcomhair CBA a dó. Lean Club na Nóg ar aghaidh freisin le rince sean-nós, beidh damhsa na scuaibe ar eolas acu go luath. Bhí seachtain den scoth againn.

TY Trip to Kairos

4A & 4B English classes travelled to Maynooth to Kairos Studio on Wednesday where they took part in a TV Studio Day. With the support of the Kairos staff and their teachers, the students created and produced a short TY Programme.  Every aspect of production was undertaken by the students themselves.  A great experience for all.

U17 Hurling Blitz

Our U17 hurlers played a blitz this week.  They won one of their three games which unfortunately wasn’t enough for them to progress in the competition.

1st Year Girls Basketball

Well done to the 1st year girls basketball team who won on Tues putting in a great performance against a tough Moyne team in Longford. They have now reached semi-final stages in the competition.

The next parents association meeting will take place on Mon 4th April at 8pm.

Students Council

The students council have regular meeting during the year and have got involved in many activities.  In January they organised a microwave for students use in the canteen and supervise it each day.  Another project that they organised was a seat for the Remembrance Garden next to the School Oratory.  Last week the seat was put into position.
