Bodhran Workshop
All Transition Years and 5th year Leaving Certificate Applied students took part in a Bodhran workshop on Monday January 19th, facilitated by Michael Vignoles from Galway. The students had a great day making, designing and learning to play the Bodhran.

Physics Trip
6th year Physics students enjoyed a day at the University of Limerick completing the mandatory experiments for their Leaving Certificate course.
Senior Soccer
Our Senior Soccer team had a great win against St. Mary’s Newport in the Munster Senior Challenge Cup on Tuesday January 20th, winning 4-3 after extra time. They now progress to the quarter final stage. There were great performances from all players on the day.
The team also defeated St. Ailbe’s, Tipperary town in the Munster Senior Development Cup Final on Friday January 23rd. Congratulations to the team and management.

Basketball
The first and second year girls basketball teams travelled to Birr on Monday January 19th. Our first years had a great win but unfortunately second years came up against a very strong side. Well done to all.
Drama Trip
3rd Year Higher Level English students attended an excellent production of their Shakespearean text, ‘The Merchant of Venice’ at the Mill Theatre in Dublin.

Girls Soccer
The 1st year girls soccer team had another great win today against Ursuline Thurles in the League. Winning 3-0 with some excellent soccer on display. Well done girls.
U14 Rugby
Well done to our u14 rugby team who had a great day out in Nenagh today at a Munster schools development blitz.

Roads Safety Education
Transition Year, Leaving Certificate Applied and 5th year students enjoyed a fun and educational time in the Road Safety Authority shuttle when it visited Borrisokane Community College on Thursday January 22nd. Thank you to the Road Safety Authority for this very worthwhile and educational experience for our students
Future Leaders
Transition Year GAA Future Leaders ran a Grand Final Quiz on Thursday Jan 15th, in which the winning team from each first year class participated. Well done to the team from 1E who emerged as overall winners!
School 5K Run/ Walk
Future Leaders and the Active School Class are delighted to announce details of their upcoming 5km Fun Run/ Walk beginning at the school on Sunday February 8th at 10a.m. There will also be a Kids Fun Run on the school grounds. Entries in the various categories – adult/ secondary school and primary school – can be made on the day or via QR Code on the school Social Media. This promises to be a lovely event for all!
