1st Year Hurling Blitz
Well done to the 1st year hurlers, who travelled to Dr. Morris Park on Tuesday September 30th for a blitz. They had a very successful day, remaining unbeaten in all their matches.
LCA Trip
A very enjoyable day was had by our Leaving Certificate Applied classes on Tuesday, as 5A and 6A travelled to UL activity centre. They completed paddle boarding, canoeing, high ropes and archery.
Congratulations
Well done to TY student Lorcan Flannery who represented his country with U17 Team Ireland in Istanbul. He had a great win in his doubles badminton competition on Tuesday, winning after three sets playing and also took part in three singles games over the last few days. All at Borrisokane Community College are proud of Lorcan and his super achievement.
World Champion Returns
Sixth year student, Aidan O’ Hara, received a hero’s welcome as he returned to school on Wednesday, having won gold and silver at the World Darts Federation World Cup last week. Students, teachers and staff lined the yard and the corridors to clap and cheer as Aidan walked by with his medals – gold in the U18 doubles and silver in the singles event. Our principal Ms. Molloy warmly congratulated Aidan on his fantastic achievements on behalf of our entire school community.
LCVP Visit In
A big thank you to Tina Mulhearne from our Local Enterprise Office for facilitating such an informative visit with our LCVP students on Wednesday October 1st.
Tina gave students a fantastic insight into the work of the LEO and the wide range of resources available to support businesses. This session will be a huge help to our students as they prepare their summary report for the final LCVP portfolio.
Senior Soccer
Our U19 boys soccer team travelled to The Abbey CBS in Tipperary Town on Thursday October 2nd for the first round of the FAI Schools Munster Senior Cup. Our players turned in a spirited performance coming up second best to The Abbey on the day. Thanks to the Abbey for a great game.
