Student Council

Our Student Leadership teams had an engaging and interactive workshop with Catriona Brennan from Tipperary ETB on Monday December 1st, reflecting on our Core Values: Excellence, Respect, Care, Community & Equality. Well done to all who took part!

 

Creative Schools

Our Creative Schools mural was officially launched on Monday December 1st, attended by members of our Parents Association. Thanks to Gerardine Wisdom for all her support and guidance with this project. The staff and students who were involved over the past three years are also to be commended on this special mural.

 

Parents Association

Thank you to Siobhan Connolly Hogan, Positive Psychology Practitioner SONA Wellbeing for speaking at our Parents Association AGM, which took place on Monday December 1st. Siobhan gave helpful tips and tricks for less stress this Christmas and in general. Thank you to the committee for organising and to the parents that attended on the night.

 

TY Future Leaders

On Thursday November 27th Transition Year Future Leaders ran a very successful quiz for all the first years as part of their Event Management Module. Well done to all the first years for participating and congratulations to the winning teams. These teams will represent their classes in the Grand Final at a later date.

 

LCA HCT

5A, our 5th year Leaving Certificate Applied class, visited local business, the Country Kitchen on Thursday December 4th. They interviewed past pupil Louise Torpey for their Hotel Catering and Tourism key assignment. Thanks to Louise for taking the time to speak with them.

 

Home Economics Trip

Senior Home Economics students enjoyed their annual trip to the Gifted Food and Craft Fair in Dublin on Thursday December 4th.

 

Architects in Schools

TY and 5th Year students took part in a pilot program in Borrisokane Community College called ‘Architects in Schools’ on Wednesday where they were introduced to the world of Architecture and undertook a design task with Architect Selene Murphy. We’re all looking forward to seeing our students innovative designs for our new Outdoor Classroom for Sustainability in part 2.

 

T.Y. Angus Beef

Congratulations to our Certified Irish Angus Beef Schools Competition team who have qualified for the interview stage of the competition which will take place in January. Well done to all involved and to their teacher Ms. Hayes.

 

Junior Girls

Well done to the Junior Girls team on winning the first round of the League V CTI Clonmel on Monday December 1st.
